Snowmageddon Cocktail

It is snowing! Granted not the 8 inches the weatherman originally promised and we have more ice than snow, but I will take it! (Fingers crossed it is enough to cancel school on Monday!)

Regardless of the ice to snow ratio, I am still enjoying snuggling on the couch in my pjs with the husband and kitties. All the milk and bread is gone from every North Carolina grocery store within a 50-mile radius, but the liquor store had all the ingredients I needed to make the perfect Snowmageddon Cocktail.

The best part of about this drink is that it looks super wintery, but when you taste it, it makes you feel like you are in the Carribean.  So, make yourself a cocktail and enjoy the snow…even if all you have to eat is milk and bread sandwiches!

Ingredients for the cocktail:
4 ounces of Hpnotiq Liqueur (the blue one)
2 ounces Kinky Pink
4 ounces white peach grape juice

Ingredients for the cocktail’s “snow”:
1 tablespoon of Malibu Coconut Rum
1/2 cup of water

Mix the water and coconut rum together in a flat bottom container; this will be the base of the cocktail’s “snow.” Put the mixture in the feezer. Every thirty minutes for two hours, take a fork and scrape the mixture. You want it to turn fluffy and look like an ice cone. This is the hardest and most time consuming part of the cocktail, but it will really impress your friends when you pour your drink over the “snow.” (The coconut rum gives the drink a pleasant tropical esence.)

This is how you want your snow to look.

After the snow mixture is ready, mix the Hpnotiq, Kinky Pink, and white peach grape juice in a shaker with ice. Shake it up! Put a good helping of snow in the bottom of a glass and then poor drink over the ice.

This makes two martinis or one larger cocktail. If you want to snazzy up the drink, rim the glass with vanilla icing and sugar crystals.

Keep up with the Carolina Couple's adventures:
